It has been wholly rewritten and will be found to contain a clear account of many important aspects of the subject. The first chapter describes the present knowledge and opinion on the nature of the intraocular fluids, the vitreous body and the blood-aqueous barrier. The subject is extended in chapter two on the circulation of the aqueous humour in which there is a clear account of the recently recognized aqueous veins. The aqueous humour and the blood-aqueous barrier in disease together with the technique of aqueous puncture are next described and the value of the puncture assessed. The technique of gonioscopic examination of the angle of the anterior chamber and the appearances seen are most clearly described and illustrated. The important advance in the technique of examination of the fundus with the slit lamp and Goldman lens is described. The beautiful coloured illustrations show how important an advance this method of examination has become. In chapter five on glaucoma further description of aqueous veins will be found.
